Title: Toddy Chocolate Drink: Fearless Fred (Drive-In Movie Ads)
Description: Starts with a melodramatic animated short entitled The Big Shipwreck, starring Fearless Fred. The ship is wrecked offshore on some rocks. Fred saves the crew then dives back in, swimming to the wreck. The crew is panicked thinking Fred won't make it. Fred returns explaining that he had to go back to retrieve the can of Toddy Chocolate Drink. Next comes footage of a 1950s snack bar, a couple in an open convertible, cu of the female, two cans of Toddy served hot or cold, snack bar couple, young female, and boy all drinking and enjoying Toddy. Last comes an animated can of Toddy with a bull who says -mmmm, delicious-.
This clip is from a compilation of drive-in intermission films found here on Internet Archives in the Drive-In Movie Ads section. Most are color but there are a few black & whites because of their quality or uniqueness.
PLEASE NOTE: These clips have been modified from the originals. They have been carefully cropped to remove excess black frame while preserving as much of the actual image as possible. I've adjusted the brightness/contrast, and color correction to the best of my ability. Magenta tinted films were especially difficult. These clips are also louder than the originals. Volume has been increased. In some cases the audio track was separated and remixed in an audio editor to enhance the sound. The enhanced audio files are available for upload if requested.

I'm guessing this was like Yoohoo and probably full of yummy chemicals, but then again it WAS the 1950's so maybe it was full of real sugar. The animation is nice.
